Holidaying in North Cornwall

We are holidaying in the beautiful and picturesque Boscastle area. On the program: food & drink, sampling the local cuisine and of course the famous and delicious Cornish Pasties hot from the local bakery, mmmmm! Exploring and go for walks.

We start with a tour of the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic. When you get there, allow at least an hour for your tour, as there is a lot to see, and the exhibitions are regularly updated. There is also the excellent Museum shop, where you can buy books, CDs, artifacts, cards, posters and souvenirs. There are regular events organized by the Museum so check their website.

After the Museum and a few pasties later, a stroll down the Harbour, basking in the Sun and the special atmosphere of the place.

In case you forgot to pack more fleeces or need a new pair of socks or walking boots, go to the Cornish Rambler a few steps back in Boscastle Village, where you can find a good range of leisure and outdoor wear.

The next day, on the road after going to Tintagel, we stop at a car park reserved for visitors of St Nectan’s Glen. From now on, it is an invigorating country walk with marvellous landscapes. On the way to St Nectan’s, we walk through the woodlands with lush trees and ferns and the gentle flow of a babbling brook.

We finally arrive at St Nectan’s Tea Gardens with a warm welcome. A sheer delight. We sit down at a table and order lunch. Scrumptious! Then we go to the shop to buy our tickets to descend to the Kieve and WaterFalls, as well as access to the new itinerary. By the way, the shop is really good and you can get crystals, cards, posters, CDs, jewellery, incense, and oracle cards. Enjoyed that! We shall come back on our next holiday. Check out St Nectan’s website for more details and opening times.
